Tuesday, June 24, 2008 - Home at last

We made it home safely late last night. It is good to be home. Our house feels so spacious. The garden has taken off during the past 2 weeks. We missed the Irises, but the Peonies are blooming. And the tomatoes and peppers that Guillermo planted before we left are doing well thanks to careful watering from Guillermo's sister and her son who took care of our house and our dog while we were gone. It is nice to have Honduran family here in Minnesota now making the break a bit less drastic. With the weather warm and everything green, "re-entry" has been especially easy this time. Many of our past trips have involved temperature changes from 90 in San Pedro to minus 10 here in Minnesota! It also helps that the kids didn't miss any school. All in I think this will go down as one of our best trips. Now to get the laundry and mail piles taken care of, while still holding on to some of that slow, calm, quiet pace of life we enjoy in Honduras.
